It is odd that all they do is spend time on the ground. Are yous sure that yous take the White's Dumpy frog, as these are normally arboreal frogs, spending time in branches. It is non normal for them to spend and so much time on the ground, especially burrowing. What are your temperatures and humidity levels
mandy on September 05, 2010:
i accept two dumpies and they refuse to climb. they couch. the merely fourth dimension they come out of the soil is at night to the h2o and to eat their crickets. does anyone know why these pretty picayune frogs prefer to burrow rather than climb the trees and drinking glass?
Whitney (author) from Georgia on August 05, 2010:
Some frogs will eat the pocket-size fish, but like you've experienced, some just ignore them. I estimate information technology's all in the dissimilar individual frogs. I've see some frogs simply devour small guppies, although a diet of just fish isn't ideal.

This is dandy. I just wish I had more time to read this morning. I will be back. We actually have a fire-belly toad, we had 2 just ane died on us. Nosotros didn't realize they really live as long equally you have stated. We kept expecting our other one to dice but she has stuck around so we are looking to go at least ane more or maybe 2.
We like to proceed fish in our tank. The frogs never seemed interested in the fish. I gauge nosotros keep the well stocked in crickets. LOL. I was interested in the land items to use. And you lot are very correct about them liking to hibernate in the plant life. She does like to hide. Sometimes it is hard to find her. So thanks for the info, it was great to learn a petty more. I am looking into a White's tree frog myself. I will read your blog again and then do some more inquiry before I get i.
